Ex Mira Lanza plant Regeneration project 

COSPE Srl developed this regeneration project as an investment initiative, aimed at the future commercial development of the area.

In line with local and regional planning policies, the need was to decontaminate and redevelop a site that had been abandoned for decades, located within the urban fabric of the Rivarolo district in Genoa.

The guiding objective throughout all phases of the project was to return high-quality spaces to the city — both public and private. The functional mix required by municipal planning, along with the characteristics of the surrounding context, made this a particularly stimulating and complex intervention.

The project involved the complete demolition of the existing and long-abandoned industrial buildings, which lacked both architectural value and any compliance with modern structural standards.

The new complex — technologically advanced and set back from the main road, with a generous provision of public space in front — includes a wide range of functions, from last-mile logistics and retail to sports and service-sector activities.

The entire project is driven by the ambition to create a new landmark for the neighbourhood, offering the local community new spaces for social interaction and gathering.

The variety of uses is reflected in the composition of the buildings, which together define the new identity of the area.
